People come to watch bears, fish, and see whales. Alaska has many mountains and glaciers. Glaciers are rivers of ice. Mount McKinley is the highest mountain in North America. It is hard to climb. There are many sports. People climb, ski, paraglide, and raft on rivers. Some people travel a long way across Alaska. Andrew Skurka walked 7,600 km in 176 days. The Iditarod is a famous dog sled race. Teams of dogs and one musher travel 1,600 km. The weather is very cold. The race is popular. Tourists are important for Alaska. But tourists can hurt nature. Green tourism helps keep Alaska clean. Tourists go in small groups and take their trash away. Anchorage is the biggest city. In 1964, there was a big earthquake. Today, you can visit museums, parks, and eat good fish. If you visit Alaska, take warm clothes, a map, and food. Be careful and have fun!<br />
